June Deadlines
Alpha Lambda Psi Scholarship
- Service Leadership Scholarship: $500.00 Scholarship awarded to one student possessing demonstrated innovative initiative-driven leadership in or out of school impacting him/her academically and/or have done extraordinary work to strengthen their community. This work may deal with social issues, civic issues, address health or environmental concerns, or promote arts and humanities. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Achievable Dream Scholarship: $500.00 Scholarship awarded to one student with a cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher and who will attend a college or trade school and has demonstrated participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities.

Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads
- Multiple Scholarship Available – Eligibility requirement is different for each scholarship
General Criteria for all:
- You must be accepted at a fully accredited college or University or waiting acceptance at an institution that meets these criteria.
- You or your parent must have been a member of the VAVRS, AVAVRS, or VAJVRS for at least 2 years.
- You may not have received this scholarship before.
Julian S. Wise Scholarship
- You may also be a Grandchild of a member with five (5) or more years of service in the VAVRS or AVAVRS
Anne J. Gwaltney Scholarship
- You must be less than 35 years old to apply ➢ Members of District 3 take priory
Sylvia & Garry Clatterbuck Scholarship
- You may also be a Grandchild of a member with five (5) or more years of service in the VAVRS or AVAVRS
- The amount of EMS work or EMS qualifications matter the most
Kelly G. Southard Scholarship
- You must be less than 65 years old to apply

Virginia Twin Rivers Watermen’s Association Scholarship Fund
Eligibility Requirements
- Scholastic record reflect a proven ability to succeed at a college or university level.
- Student must show evidence of leadership and character qualities.
- Student must show evidence of positive community/school contributions.
- Student must be a child or relative of a Waterman/Waterwoman or local seafood industry employee.
Application Packet must include….
- Application form.
- High school transcript.
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a school official i.e. administrator, counselor, or teacher).
- Description of the applicant’s career and personal goals.
- Essay (no more than 500 words) addressing one of the following topics:
- The positive impact that a waterman/watermen have had on the applicant’s life.
- The environmental protection issues and conservation efforts that affect watermen in the Northern Neck.
- The difference the applicant can make in the plight of watermen’s livelihoods.

July Deadlines
- You must have been a member of the AVAVRS or the VAJVRS for at least 2 years, or be a dependent of a person who has been a member for 5 years.
- You must be accepted at a fully accredited college or University or awaiting acceptance at an institution that meets the criteria.
- You may not have received this scholarship before.
- Deadline: July 1st
Sharon K. Campbell Memorial Scholarship
- have been a member of the VAVRS, the AVAVRS, or the VAJVRS for at least 2 years or be a child or grandchild of a person who has been a member for at least 5 years;
- have been accepted at a fully accredited college or University or be awaiting acceptance at an institution that meets these criteria (the scholarship will not be awarded until the applicant has been accepted); and
- submit a completed application with all required items attached including the applicants transcripts, a letter of recommendation from a teacher or other person in a leadership position, a letter from the applicant explaining why this scholarship assistance is important to them, and a letter of recommendation from the company/organization President or Chief describing the current member’s status.
