Marquise Lanier started in his second for Rend Lake College Baseball, going 2-5 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
Carlie Clark, Class of 2013, was a two-sport athlete at Rappahannock High School in softball and volleyball. She was a three-time all- district player in softball for head coach Ellen Gaines. Clark, who was named academic all-district three times in softball, was named the Pitcher of the Year in the district twice. She was also selected first- team all-region and was the Region MVP. While playing volleyball for Woody Campbell, Clark was a twice all-district and academic all-district on three occasions.
Jacob Roberts, starting right fielder for the Guilford College, went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI in the Quakers 11-2 victory over Emory & Henry College. Guilford has won 7 straight games to even its record at 18-18.
Devante Reynolds, Class of 2007, played four seasons on the varsity football team, was an honorable mention all-district selection as a senior in football and basketball, was first-team all-district and all-region as a junior, tallied more than 1,300 all-purpose yards and 14 touchdowns as a running back and receiver his junior season, and also played basketball and soccer and ran track during his high school career. Reynolds finished his career at Norfolk State starting 23 consecutive games at free safety, earning 2nd team honors in the MEAC.
